I've been on a Foo Fighters/Nirvana kick. I listened to Everlong for days on end - rediscovered
it - a few weeks ago. Have you ever seen Dave Grohl sing it live? If so, I'm jealous. I went through a watch-Nirvana-documentaries-and-interviews phase at the same time and ended up feeling super-thankful to have experienced a slice of that '90's angst when it happened, because I'm finding rock music in general lacking, these days. It might have started when I once saw a Paris Hilton record in the 'rock' section. It was all downhill from there.
"From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah" was the first cd I ever bought, by myself, in Walmart.
I think I was 12 and terrified, and the checkout guys asked me: "Are you sure you want this one?". Pretty sure I looked him in the eye & said a sure "yep". Maybe without the looking-in-the-eye.
This playlist is perfect for a chill slightly-emo-in-a-plaid-shirt-way day.
PS - "Something in the Way" live @ MTV Unplugged rocks my world
